Your love story is the most personal thing about your relationship. Many of our clients are
choosing to include their love story in their ceremony in place of the minister's address,
which is usually on a topic related to marriage.
The love story can be sentimental, sweet, or even lighthearted fun. It's a unique way to
personalize your ceremony.
The following was written for a couple who wanted their guests to experience the humor
and playfulness that marked their relationship. Guests were overwhelmed with tears and
laughter, and the couple and their families received many phone calls from guests
remarking what a wonderful ceremony that reflected the happy couple perfectly:
Kahlil Gibran says that, “Marriage is the golden ring in a chain, whose beginning is a
glance and whose ending is eternity.”
Aurora and Phillip follow that same pattern, a modern day fairy tale of sorts without the
animation.
Once upon a time, a little girl named Aurora planned out her life carefully. She loved good
books and Disney movies and good food. Everything was organized. She graduated from
college, began working, and felt confident that her life was moving along on schedule.
At about the same time, a young boy named Phillip was living life to the fullest—waking
up and wondering where the day would take him, what new adventure lay ahead. He was
known for his fun-loving nature and his overwhelming ability to have fun. He did not have a
careful plan, and spent a lot of time when he got to college attending social gatherings.
After college, he joined the Army, and went off on a new adventure.
One day Aurora, who had known of Phillip for some time and wasn’t sure she appreciated
his lack of planning and his commitment to fun, went to visit Phillip’s brother when Phillip
was on leave from the service. And then she discovered it: while he did not have a master
plan and schedule, and he did a lot of socializing, he also loved good books. And good
food. And a willingness to at least watch animated movies.
Soon after, she realized that there was more to Phillip than just an overly social nature,
and Phillip discovered Aurora could add new things to her schedule, and occasionally,
she could even put the schedule away. They each brought balance into the other’s life,
and today, a long time from that first glance, they commit to spending their lives together
to eternity.
